Soccer Game Preview: Wethersfield vs. Middletown

The Wethersfield Eagles will venture away from home to face off against the Middletown Blue Dragons at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Wethersfield is looking to tack another W on to their season record, something they couldn't quite do against Southington on Friday. The Eagles and the Blue Knights finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw.

Meanwhile, Middletown didn't have quite enough to beat Plainville on Thursday and fell 2-1. Middletown have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Middletown's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-1. With that draw, Wethersfield's record moves to 3-1-1.

Wethersfield took their victory against Middletown in their previous meeting back in October of 2020 by a conclusive 9-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
