Independence extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to 12 on Friday, dropping them down to 0-7. They had to suffer through a 59-0 loss at the hands of the Lovejoy Leopards. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Knights haven't been shut out since back in September.

Jack O'Connor threw for 82 yards on seven of 15 attempts. Jayvion Thompson was his top target, picking up 62 receiving yards. On the ground, Gabriel Ike rushed for 31 yards.

Coming up, Independence will host Melissa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Cardinals have now posted at least 31 points in their last four matchups. As for Lovejoy, they will venture away from home to face off against Emerson at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Leopards will be up against the Mavericks' rather soft defense (which has allowed 28.57 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
