Softball Recap: Dansville Now 6-1 over Last Seven Games

Dansville extended their postseason success on Saturday against Memphis. They put the hurt on the Yellowjackets with a sharp 13-3 win. The result was nothing new for the Aggies, who have now won 16 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Laci Neal was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 14 batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in 17 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and one double.

In other batting news, Maddi Carter and Gabby Hollon did most of the damage at the plate: Carter went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Hollon went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Those four hits gave Hollon a new career-high. Bree Delano was another key player, going 2-for-5 with two RBI and one run.

Dansville is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 25-10 record this season. As for Memphis, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.

Dansville wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Plymouth Christian Academy on the 7th. Memphis does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
