Baseball Recap: Benavides Takes a Loss

Benavides was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost 19-3 to the Taft Greyhounds. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Eagles of the 18-5 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2024.

Benavides' defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Taft, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-7-1 record this season.

Benavides will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Bruni at 6:00 p.m. on April 16th. As for Taft, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 10-3 defeat against Sinton on the 12th.
