Softball Game Preview: Atlantic City Vikings vs. Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors

The Atlantic City Vikings will head out to square off against the Camden County Vo-Tech Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Atlantic City was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Wildwood Catholic on Thursday. The Vikings never let the Crusaders get on the board and left with an 11-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Vikings as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.

Nelly Sosa was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 13 over five innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts she has posted over her last seven matchups. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played.

In other batting news, Atlantic City got a big performance out of Alaina Moore, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Another player making a difference was Kayla Barrie, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.

Atlantic City always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Wildwood Catholic only posted an OBP of .286.

Meanwhile, Camden County Vo-Tech waltzed into their contest last Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 18-0 margin over the Lancers. The game marked the Warriors' most dominant win of the season so far.

Camden County Vo-Tech's record is now 6-3. As for Atlantic City, they picked up their first home victory, bumping their record up to 5-8.
