Baseball Recap: Southland Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Southland strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against the Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander Superlarks. That's more bragging rights for the Rebels, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Noah Goergen was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Cael Smith, who scored a run and stole a base.

Southland's record now sits at 3-0. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, they dropped their record down to 0-5 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Southland will host Blooming Prairie at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Grand Meadow/Kingsland/LeRoy-Ostrander, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Houston at 4:30 p.m.
