LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. - The defense did their part on the scoring end for for
Kern Valley (Lake Isabella, Calif.) on Saturday, totaling 13 points as the Broncs defeated Rosamond (Calif.) 66-7.
After taking the lead on a passing touchdown in the first quarter, the Broncs led 66--6 at the half.
Kern Valley grew its lead to 85 points entering the fourth quarter. KV scored two times in the third, including once on a
Zach Bushling touchdown run.
A 39-point second quarter helped the Lake Isabella school secure the big victory. The Broncs scored on a touchdown run by
Dalton Gallis, a touchdown catch by
Shane Hawk, a Hawk touchdown run and a touchdown catch by
Zack Hefner in the quarter.
Rosamond's lone touchdown came on a pass from undefined to Sergio Page in the second quarter.
Kern Valley went into the matchup giving up only 17.0 points per game. The seven points that the Roadrunners ended with were below their average of 13.3 coming into the game.
The defeat comes as a step back for Rosamond, which notched a 39-28 victory over California City in its previous outing. The win brought Kern Valley's winning streak to four games.
Kern Valley (6-1) will play a High Desert game against California City next week, while Rosamond (1-7) will take on Frazier Mountain also in a High Desert game.
