Recap: Academe of the Oaks Firebirds vs. Peachtree Academy Panthers
This season hasn't been kind to the Academe of the Oaks Firebirds, who are still winless after their fifth game. They were beaten by Peachtree Academy 53-17 on Friday.
Peachtree Academy can attribute much of their success to Noah Rodriguez, who scored 15 points along with 6 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Rodriguez has scored at least 25% of Peachtree Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Tom Mitchell, who scored 10 points.
Academe of the Oaks bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.7 points per game. As for Peachtree Academy, their win bumped their record up to 2-4.
Academe of the Oaks will be playing in front of their home fans against HALO at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Peachtree Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against Skipstone Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
