Basketball Recap: Glenpool Takes Down Hilldale in a Playoff Battle

Glenpool had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Hilldale Hornets 89-26 on Thursday. The Warriors' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Aaliyah Shawnee was her usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 34 points and nine steals. Shawnee is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tyra Mckinnie, who dropped a triple-double with 12 points, 13 boards, and ten assists.

Glenpool pushed their record up to 18-9 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 49 points. As for Hilldale, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-14 record this season.

Glenpool will face off against Bethany at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Hilldale, they will take on Checotah at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hilldale has given up an average of 49.8 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week.
