Basketball Recap: Donoho Comes Up Short

Donoho was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 49-45 heartbreaker at the hands of the Jacksonville Christian Academy Thunder. The Falcons were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunder earlier this season, when they won 72-42.

Jacksonville Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jesse Gannaway led the charge by putting up 22 points and eight boards. Gannaway has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more points the last 22 times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Lee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Donoho's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Jacksonville Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season.

Donoho has already played their next contest (against Gaylesville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Jacksonville Christian Academy has already played their next game, a 69-43 win against Woodland on the 27th.
