Softball Recap: Northridge Has No Trouble Against Central

Northridge won the last time they faced Central and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Jaguars blew past the Falcons 19-3. That looming 19-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Jaguars yet this season.

Anna Grace Reed was excellent, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Abston, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

The victory made it two in a row for Northridge and bumps their season record up to 7-16. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 20.5 runs over those games. As for Central, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-14.

Coming up, Northridge will venture away from home to square off against Paul W. Bryant at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Stampede have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 17 runs per game on average), something the Jaguars will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Central, they will square off against Tuscaloosa Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Falcons' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Knights have averaged an impressive 11.6 runs per game this season.
