Baseball Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

Belmont suffered their closest defeat since February 14th on Friday. They fell just short of the Mantachie Mustangs by a score of 2-0. The shutout was out of character for the Cardinals seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in March.

Belmont has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-13 record this season. As for Mantachie, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 7-12.

Belmont wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 15-9 loss against Hamilton on the 5th. Mantachie has also already played their next contest (against Tremont), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
