Baseball Recap: Alonso Now 4-1 over Last Five Games

Alonso extended their postseason success on Thursday against Venice. They came out on top against the Indians by a score of 5-2. This was a revenge game for the Ravens: when they faced off against the Indians on Wednesday, they had to take a 6-3 loss.

Marcelo Diaz Villalon looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Samuel Fernandez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Daniel Despaine was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Alonso has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 20-12 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Venice, with the defeat, they broke their 11-game winning streak and moved their record to 29-4.

Alonso will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Indians: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
