Soccer Game Preview: Lecanto vs. Gainesville

The Lecanto Panthers will face off against the Gainesville Hurricanes at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Lecanto is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. They never let Belleview onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Panthers considering their one-goal performance the matchup before.

Meanwhile, Gainesville entered their tilt with Springstead on Monday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Eagles 6-1.

Gainesville has also been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven contests. As for Lecanto, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3-1.
