Skyline is preparing for their first region matchup of the season on Friday. They will be playing at home against the ALA - Gilbert North Eagles at 7:00 p.m. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
On Friday, Skyline made easy work of Browne and carried off a 28-7 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Coyotes just coasted through the last quarter.

Skyline got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Claridge out in front who threw for 197 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. What's more, Claridge racked up 140.3 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September of 2024. Skyline's leading receiver Shawn Saxon was Claridge's top target yet again, picking up 67 receiving yards and three scores.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Skyline proved: they limited Browne to a paltry 2.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Michael Joya for the heroic effort on defense: he. Skyline's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 5.4.
Skyline's defense didn't let Perry Grays, get away unscathed either: they got into the backfield for five sacks. Alex Rodriquez was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up three himself. He also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with seven.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask ALA - Gilbert North). They blew past Dobson, posting a 45-0 victory. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Eagles considering their seven-point performance the matchup before.
Skyline better focus on containing McRae Skinner and Ben Livingston as the pair were huge in ALA - Gilbert North's win. Skinner rushed for 70 yards and a pair of TDs on only six carries, while Livingston threw for 124 yards and three touchdowns while completing 75% of his passes. Skinner also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up a sack and making six total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Skyline now has a winning record of 3-2. As for ALA - Gilbert North, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Skyline has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 199.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like ALA - Gilbert North struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 168.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Skyline was taken down by ALA - Gilbert North 42-13 in their previous meeting back in September of 2024. Thankfully for the Coyotes, Conner White (who threw for 184 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 77.3% of his passes, and also rushed for 48 yards and one score) won't be suiting up this time.
