Football Recap: Vashon Island Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Vashon Island extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to eight on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were outmatched by the Bellevue Christian Vikings and fell 41-6. The Pirates lost against the Vikings in their previous head to head back in November of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 58-0 score last time.

When it comes to explaining why Vashon Island lost, don't look at Tallis Sullivan. Despite the final result, he rushed for 157 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.5 yards per carry. The Pirates also got help from Michael Browne, who showed off his sure hands for 84 receiving yards.

As for Bellevue Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1. That looming 41-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

It was another big night for Isaiah Alvis, who rushed for 11 yards and a pair of TDs.

Coming up, Vashon Island will venture away from home to challenge Kingston at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Buccaneers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 29 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
