Baseball Game Preview: Badin Rams vs. Chaminade Julienne Catholic Eagles

Badin is preparing for their first conference matchup of the season on Monday. They will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Chaminade Julienne Catholic Eagles at 5:00 p.m. The last three games Badin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Last Friday, Badin didn't have quite enough to beat IMG Academy Gray and fell 8-6.

Austin Vangen was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing three bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season. Another player making a difference was Aidan Sullivan, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Eagles on Wednesday. Chaminade Julienne Catholic walked away with a 6-1 victory over Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy. Chaminade Julienne Catholic has beaten Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest Cincinnati Hills Christian Academy has come to flipping the script.

Ben Kolton was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over seven innings pitched. Kolton was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two RBI.

Badin now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Chaminade Julienne Catholic, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Badin came out on top in a nail-biter against Chaminade Julienne Catholic in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, sneaking past 6-4. Will the Rams repeat their success, or do the Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
