Softball Preview: Casey-Westfield Warriors vs. Mt. Carmel Golden Aces
The Casey-Westfield Warriors will head out on the road to take on the Mt. Carmel Golden Aces at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Casey-Westfield comes in on 16 and Mt. Carmel on three.
Casey-Westfield is hoping to deliver their fans another blowout on Thursday, just like they did against Richland County (and have done all season long). Casey-Westfield's pitcher stepped up to hand Richland County a 7-0 shutout on Monday.
Ava Goble was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Goble has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive pitching appearances. Goble was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Casey-Westfield got a massive performance out of Allyson Truelove, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
