Softball Recap: Great Oak Drops Season-High Score on Chaparral

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Great Oak). They put the hurt on the Chaparral Pumas with a sharp 16-2 win on Wednesday. Considering the Wolfpack have won eight matches by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Great Oak has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Chaparral, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's still a better percentage than their 4-16 record this season.

Great Oak will face off against Temecula Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Bears have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.35 runs per game on average), something the Wolfpack will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chaparral, they will take on Murrieta Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. The Pumas are facing the Nighthawks at the right time seeing as the Nighthawks are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
