Preview: Pendleton County Wildcat vs. Tucker County Mountain Lions
Pendleton County is 1-9 against Tucker County since February of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pendleton County Wildcat will be staying on the road to face off against the Tucker County Mountain Lions at 7:00 p.m. on February 13th. Pendleton County will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps West Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 85th, while Tucker County is ranked 30th).
On Saturday, Pendleton County was able to grind out a solid win over Pocahontas County, taking the game 47-36.
Meanwhile, Tucker County narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Petersburg 51-49.
Pendleton County pushed their record up to 8-12 with that win, which was their third straight on the road. As for Tucker County, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Pendleton County was taken down by Tucker County 77-28 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Pendleton County was down 42-13.
