Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Buena Vista Demons walked away with it. They secured a 27-21 W over Colorado Springs Christian on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Buena Vista.
Tray Cardwell went supernova for Buena Vista, rushing for 204 yards and two touchdowns. Eli Schuknecht was another key contributor, rushing for 89 yards and a touchdown.
Despite the loss, Colorado Springs Christian still got an impressive performance from Jace Velasquez, who threw for 278 yards and two touchdowns.
Buena Vista has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. As for Colorado Springs Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 7-3.
Buena Vista will head out on the road to face off against Meeker at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Meeker is ranked 72nd, while Buena Vista is ranked 86th).
