Basketball Game Preview: Marion Patriots vs. Greene County Tech Golden Eagles

The Marion Patriots will head out to face off against the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Marion comes in on four and Greene County Tech on 20.

Marion is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Arkansas' top teams: Valley View, who was ranked 25th at the time (Marion was ranked 17th). Marion came out on top against Valley View by a score of 71-60 on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Greene County Tech made easy work of Batesville on Tuesday and carried off a 72-52 win. The Golden Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 15 matchups by 20 points or more this season.

Greene County Tech's victory was their 12th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 27-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 24.1 points. As for Marion, their win bumped their record up to 20-9.

Marion ended up a good deal behind Greene County Tech when the teams last played back in January, losing 59-45. Can Marion avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
