Volleyball Recap: Girard Comes Up Short

If Girard was feeling good fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Salem on Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians came up short against the Crestview Rebels on Thursday, falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Indians of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

While Girard was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Crestview's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-10, 25-13.

Fiona Allen paced Girard's offense, picking up 11 kills. Allen got some help from Chloe Plant and her nine assists. Finally, Ava Serrano and Brooke Perry kept the team grounded on defense, each having blocked three attacks.

Girard's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Crestview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-3.

Girard didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-1 win against Rootstown on the 16th. As for Crestview, they have also already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Clearview on the 16th.
