Basketball Recap: Cypress Park Takes a Loss

Cypress Park was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They lost to the Bridgeland Bears at home by a 54-35 margin. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 73-36 back in December of 2024.

Bridgeland's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ibifaa Azogu, who went 11 for 16 en route to 22 points and seven rebounds. Trina Franklin was another key player, putting up ten points along with eight boards and five assists.

Cypress Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Bridgeland, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-12 record this season.

Cypress Park has already played their next game, a 62-19 defeat against Langham Creek on the 25th. As for Bridgeland, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-43 win against Waller on the 25th.
