Basketball Recap: Montrose's Undefeated Season over After Three Games + How To Watch

Montrose was the 44-40 winner over Eagle Valley when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Red Hawks fell 56-48 to the Devils on Saturday. The loss put an end to the Red Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Despite the loss, Montrose still got an impressive performance from Lane Pressler, who went 5-for-7 on his way to 14 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Pressler is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. CJ Rocco was another key player, putting up 12 points.

Malachi Barros was the offensive standout of the contest as he almost dropped a double-double with 17 points and nine boards. Those 17 points gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Hovey, who shot 71% from the field to rack up 13 points.

Having lost for the first time this season, Montrose fell to 2-1. As for Eagle Valley, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Coming up, Montrose will be taking part in a tournament against Wheat Ridge at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Eagle Valley, they will take on Rampart in a tournament on Thursday.
