Softball Recap: East Grand Forks Takes a Loss

After flying high against Ada-Borup on Tuesday, East Grand Forks came back down to earth. The Green Wave fell just short of the Goodridge/Thief River Falls Huskies by a score of 6-5 on Thursday. The Green Wave were not able to make up for their loss to the Huskies from their previous meeting back in May of 2024.

Sophia Lukach made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ellie Marcott, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

With the defeat, East Grand Forks broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5. As for Goodridge/Thief River Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 7-3.

Coming up, East Grand Forks will head out on the road to square off against Fosston at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Goodridge/Thief River Falls, they will face off against Perham at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
