Softball Recap: Aztec Takes a Loss

Despite a phenomenal run in the regular season, Aztec couldn't carry that success into this playoff game. They fell just short of the Artesia Bulldogs by a score of 5-3 on Friday. The defeat continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Bulldogs: they've now lost four in a row.

Aztec saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cheyenne Yellow, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run.

Aztec's loss dropped their record down to 21-6. As for Artesia, their win was their 11th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 26-4.

Looking ahead, Aztec will square off against Silver at 2:30 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.7, the Slvr Ftg Colts 4.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. Artesia does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
