Softball Recap: Beacon Takes a Loss

Beacon couldn't beat Port Jervis on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the sixth inning. The Bulldogs came up short against the Raiders, falling 19-4. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their meetings with the Raiders: they've now lost seven in a row.

Beacon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Meg Nicholson, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run. Emma Soltish also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.

Beacon's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Port Jervis, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Beacon will face off against Spackenkill at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Port Jervis, they will take on Marlboro Central in a tournament on Saturday. The Dukes will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something the Raiders surely won't give up without a fight.
