Volleyball Game Preview: Kofa Kings vs. Tolleson Wolverines

The Kofa Kings will head out on the road to face off against the Tolleson Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Tolleson took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Kofa, who comes in off a win.

Having struggled with five defeats in a row, Kofa turned things around against Somerton on Tuesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over the Toros.

The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-17, 18-25, 26-24.

Isabel Desautelle and Makenzie Wharton were among the main playmakers for Kofa as the former had 38 assists and three digs and the latter had ten kills, five digs, and one block. Those 38 assists gave Desautelle a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Tolleson was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They lost 3-0 to Shadow Ridge.

Tolleson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Kofa, they picked up their first road win, bumping their record up to 3-7.

Kofa suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Tolleson in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of the Wolverines' Rebecca Moreno Grijalva, who had six digs and four aces. Now that the Kings know the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
