Softball Recap: Jackson's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Ten

Jackson waltzed into their match on Tuesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They put the hurt on the Escambia County Blue Devils with a sharp 19-1 victory. The Aggies might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 14 games by six runs or more this season.

Gabby Howard was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. Those five stolen bases gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Smith, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Jackson always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .929. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Escambia County only posted an OBP of .500.

Jackson's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.8 runs on average over those games. As for Escambia County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson will head out to challenge Clarke County at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Escambia County, they will venture away from home to square off against W.S. Neal at 4:30 p.m. on the 10th.
