Northwest Christian hadn't done well against Ocosta recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Wolverines walked away with a 7-2 win over the Wildcats. This was payback for the Wolverines, who suffered a 15-5 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Jack Vahey was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. That triple marked the first that he hit this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Marshall Guyer, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory made it two in a row for Northwest Christian and bumps their season record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.0 runs over those games. As for Ocosta, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northwest Christian will square off against Pope John Paul II at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ocosta, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Pe Ell/Willapa Valley at 4:00 p.m.
