Recap: Lemoore Tigers vs. Tulare Western Mustangs
Even though the Tulare Western Mustangs scored an imposing 61 points on Wednesday, the Lemoore Tigers still came out on top. Lemoore took down Tulare Western 77-61. Given Lemoore's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while Tulare Western is ranked 611th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Andrew Mora, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Micah Fox, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Tulare Western lost, one person who can't be blamed is Malachi Ficher. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with eight rebounds. Xavier Garcia was another key contributor, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and ten rebounds.
Lemoore is on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 21 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-9 record this season. As for Tulare Western, they now have a losing record at 13-14.
Lemoore will head out on the road to square off against Hanford at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. As for Tulare Western, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Tulare Union at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Tulare Western is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 61 points per game this season.
