Novi hasn't had much luck against Northville recently, but that could start to change  on Friday. The Wildcats will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs  at 7:00  p.m. Novi has given up an average of 28.9  points per game this season, but Friday's  game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Novi's offense might be in the hot seat  on Friday considering what happened against Howell  on Friday. They had to suffer through  a    42-0 loss at the hands of the Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 222nd, while the Highlanders are ranked 70th).
Meanwhile, Northville took their  game  on Friday with ease, bagging  a  55-9 win over Hartland. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won three matchups by 20  points or more  so far this season.
Northville's win came from a few key players Novi will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was  Cooper Derkach, who rushed for 43 yards and one  touchdown, and also threw for 85 yards and a pair of  TDs on only seven passes.  Cassius Montgomery was another key player, gaining 84 total yards and two touchdowns.
 Northville didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut  Nick Nathan.
 Northville's victory was  their fourth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 6-1. The  home  wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points on average over those games. As for Novi, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
 Novi couldn't quite finish off Northville in their previous meeting  back in October of 2024 and fell  27-25. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of  the Mustangs'  Max DeFore, who rushed for 209 yards and one  score while picking up 8.4 yards per carry.
