Basketball Recap: Cherokee Comes Up Short

If Cherokee was feeling good fresh off their 64-41 takedown of North Paulding last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cherokee Warriors lost to the Etowah Eagles on the road by a 63-45 margin on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

Cherokee's defeat dropped their record down to 15-8. As for Etowah, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home.

Cherokee will challenge Wheeler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Wheeler will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Cherokee surely won't give up without a fight. As for Etowah, they will take on North Paulding at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Etowah knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully North Paulding likes a good challenge.
