Baseball Recap: Crossroads Christian Find Success

Crossroads Christian hadn't done well against Cape Fear Christian Academy recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Colts came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 7-3. This was payback for the Colts, who suffered a 3-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Bobby Bobbitt and Wesley Anderson dominated on the mound. Bobbitt struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits, while Anderson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Bobbitt has been consistent : he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Cody Paschall was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Adcock, who scored a run while going 3-for-4.

Crossroads Christian's record now sits at 7-3. As for Cape Fear Christian Academy, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.

Crossroads Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Eagles: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
