Football Recap: Lemon Bay Takes a Loss

If Lemon Bay was riding high fresh off their 52-0 takedown of East Lee County last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Manta Rays came up short against the Cypress Lake Panthers on Friday, falling 41-21. The Manta Rays lost against the Panthers in their previous head to head back in October of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 47-6 score last time.

Lemon Bay's defeat dropped their record down to 3-6. As for Cypress Lake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Lemon Bay will head out to take on North Port at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Manta Rays are facing the Bobcats at the right time seeing as the Bobcats are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Cypress Lake, they will venture away from home to square off against Mariner at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
