Basketball Recap: Bonner Springs Continues Home Dominance on Saturday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Bonner Springs had no problem doing just that on Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 67-47 margin over the St. James Academy Thunder. Winning may never get old, but the Braves sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.

Bonner Springs' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kelan Gruver, who went 5-for-9 on his way to 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Gruver is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in each of the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaiden Jones, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 12 boards.

Bonner Springs' win was their tenth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points over those games. As for St. James Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-14 record this season.
