Chelsea gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Springville Tigers. The Hornets haven't had any issues with the Tigers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Chelsea had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The match finished with set scores of 21-25, 25-12, 15-8.

Aly Davis was the offensive standout of the contest as she had five digs and three aces. Those three aces gave her a new career-high.

Chelsea wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against Shades Valley on the 21st. As for Springville, they have also already played their next game, a 2-1 loss against Mount Pisgah Christian on the 22nd.
