Volleyball Recap: Bret Harte Bullfrogs vs. Big Valley Christian Lions        
        
		
             If Bret Harte was riding high  off their  3-0 takedown of Tokay last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Bret Harte Bullfrogs took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Big Valley Christian Lions on Thursday. The Bullfrogs' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
 While Bret Harte had to take the loss, they sure made a game of it, especially in the third set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 18-25, 31-29,  25-14.
 Big Valley Christian was led to victory by  Ella Alavezos and  Annika Rumble.  Alavezos  had 24  digs and two  aces, while  Rumble  had 11  digs and two  aces. Alavezos is also on a roll when it comes to  assists, as she's  now  posted ten or more in the last nine games she's  played dating back to last season.  Rachel Tritean was another key player,  getting five  kills, two  blocks, and two  aces.
 Bret Harte's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Big Valley Christian, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record  this season.
 Bret Harte will be playing in front of their home fans against Calaveras  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Big Valley Christian, they will venture away from home to  take on Summerville  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
