Basketball Game Preview: Douglas County Tigers vs. East Coweta Indians

The Douglas County Tigers will head out on the road to challenge the East Coweta Indians at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Douglas County is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They fell 77-64 to New Manchester. While losing is never fun, the Tigers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 292nd, while the Jaguar are ranked 60th).

Meanwhile, East Coweta suffered their biggest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Saturday. They came up short against Westlake, falling 82-62. The Indians haven't had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

East Coweta's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-7. As for Douglas County, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-13.

Douglas County was taken down by East Coweta 76-46 in their previous meeting on January 3rd. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of East Coweta's Harper Rife, who went 8 of 12 from beyond the arc on his way to 28 points.
