The South Hills Scorpions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their 14th straight loss. They took a 29-25 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wilson. The match was a 18-18 toss-up at halftime, but South Hills was outscored by Wilson in the second.
When it comes to explaining why South Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Lili Hernandez. Despite the final result, she scored 6 points along with 13 rebounds. Hernandez hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. Jocelyn Rockingham was another key contributor, scoring 9 points along with 4 steals.
South Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 1-15. As for Wilson, their victory bumped their record up to 4-8.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Ponder the next time they take the court. South Hills will head out to face Ponder at 11:20 a.m. on Thursday, while Wilson will host them at 11:20 a.m. on Friday.
