Soccer Recap: Laguna Creek Takes a Loss

Laguna Creek was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Monterey Trail Mustangs. While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 868th, while the Mustangs are ranked 316th).

Laguna Creek's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Monterey Trail, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7-2.

Laguna Creek will challenge Cosumnes Oaks at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Monterey Trail, they will square off against Sheldon at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Monterey Trail's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
