Two dominant guards in Riley Turknett and Emme Dalhoff are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Seminole Warhawks will venture away from home to square off against the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Seminole comes in on three and Clearwater Central Catholic on six.
Seminole will bounce into Tuesday's matchup after beating East Lake, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. Seminole was the clear victor by a 51-29 margin over East Lake on Friday. With the Warhawks ahead 38-12 at the half, the game was all but over already.

Seminole's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Turknett, who went 5 of 11 en route to 10 points and five steals. Turknett is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ava Santore, who posted 11 points and five rebounds.
Seminole smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Clearwater Central Catholic was fully in charge on Monday, breezing past Berkeley Prep 48-19. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Marauders just coasted through the last quarter.
Seminole better keep an eye on Dalhoff. She was instrumental in Clearwater Central Catholic's win, putting up 26 points. The dominant performance gave Dalhoff a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Comfort, who put up eight points.
Clearwater Central Catholic pushed their record up to 7-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 27.6 points. As for Seminole, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.
Seminole suffered a grim 56-34 defeat to Clearwater Central Catholic in their previous meeting back in December of 2020. Thankfully for Seminole, I'Yania Sarnoff (who went 7 of 13 on her way to 19 points and five steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
