Volleyball Game Preview: Grand Valley Mustangs vs. Newton Falls Tigers

Grand Valley is 0-3 against Newton Falls since September of 2021 but things could change on Monday. The Mustangs will be taking part in a tournament against the Tigers at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Grand Valley saw some tournament action on Thursday. They came out on top against John F. Kennedy Catholic by a score of 3-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Mustangs.

Grand Valley was especially dominant in the third set. The final score came out to 25-20, 22-25, 25-11, 25-18.

United typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Newton Falls proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with a 3-1 win over the Golden Eagles.

The victory didn't come easy: United scored at least 20 points in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-22, 20-25, 25-20.

Grand Valley's win bumped their record up to 17-5. As for Newton Falls, their victory bumped their record up to 16-7.

Grand Valley couldn't quite get it done against Newton Falls in their previous meeting back in September of 2023 as they fell 3-1. Can the Mustangs avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
