 Karns City typically has all the answers at home, but  on Monday Clarion Area proved too difficult a challenge. They walked away with  a   5-1  victory over the Karns City Gremlins. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Clarion Area also won the last time the pair played  back in May of 2023.
  Devon Lauer was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up just one earned run off   one  hit (and not a single walk). Lauer has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't  given up  more than two  walks in three consecutive pitching appearances. Lauer was also big at the plate,  scoring a  run while going 2-for-4.
 In other batting news,  Bryce Brinkley was  excellent,  going 2-for-4 with three  stolen bases and  an  RBI.
 Clarion Area's win was  their sixth straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 9-1-1. As for Karns City, their defeat  ended  a  six-game streak of wins at home  and  dropped them to 8-2.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clarion Area will  face off against Redbank Valley at 4:15  p.m.  on Thursday. As for Karns City, they will head out on the road to  square off against  Cranberry Area at 4:15  p.m.  on Wednesday. Karns City's pitching crew has only allowed 3.3  runs per game  this season, so Cranberry Area's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
