Football Recap: Winter Park Comes Up Short at Home Against Jones + How To Watch

Winter Park unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They had to suffer through a 35-0 loss at the hands of the Jones Fightin' Tigers. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 80th, while the Fightin' Tigers are ranked eighth).

Onrique Archie threw for 142 yards on eight of 16 attempts. Decorie Johnson was his top target, picking up 53 receiving yards.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Winter Park will square off against Berkeley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Jones, they will take on Timber Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
