Mintz Christian Academy had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Everything went their way against the Northwood Temple Academy Eagles on Friday as the Mintz Christian Academy Lions made off with a 12-6 win. The victory was nothing new for the Lions as they're now sitting on four straight dating back to last season.

The team relied heavily on Peyton Schoonmaker, who scored two runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Parker Hinson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-3.

Having lost for the first time this season, Northwood Temple Academy fell to 2-1.

Mintz Christian Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Antioch Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on March 18th. The matchup will give Mintz Christian Academy their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Northwood Temple Academy, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 6-5 defeat against The O'Neal School on the 13th.
