Basketball Game Preview: Parkview Patriots vs. Sylvan Hills Bears

The Parkview Patriots will head out on the road to square off against the Sylvan Hills Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Parkview is headed into Tuesday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Monday. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 61-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Bentonville. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 112th, while the Tigers are ranked 26th).

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sylvan Hills). They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 79-76 victory over Lake Hamilton on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Bears have posted since February 6, 2024.

Parkview's defeat dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Sylvan Hills, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Parkview was able to grind out a solid victory over Sylvan Hills in their previous matchup back in January of 2024, winning 56-49. Will Parkview repeat their success, or does Sylvan Hills have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
