Baseball Game Preview: Emerald Vikings vs. Westside Rams

For the second straight game, Emerald will face off against Westside. The Vikings will head out to face off against the Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Emerald is coming into the contest on a six-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Emerald came up short against Westside and fell 7-4.

For Westside's part, Peyton Milford made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Milford was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one stolen base. Westside is undefeated when Milford posts two or more runs, but 5-8 otherwise.

Milford wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Brody Caudle, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double. Krayton Henderson also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for Westside and bumps their season record up to 8-8. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Emerald, their loss dropped their record down to 6-11.
