Volleyball Game Preview: John Henry Wildcats vs. Aspire Richmond Ca. College Preparatory Academy Grizzlies

After both having extra time off, the John Henry Wildcats and the Aspire Richmond Ca. College Preparatory Academy Grizzlies will shake off the rust and duke it out at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

While Wildcats fans will have to keep waiting for their squad to come home, they shouldn't be too worried about the road trip considering the result of Friday's season opener. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over Wilson Prep on September 5th.

John Henry was actually outscored in aggregate across those five sets (103-98), but they still managed to win. The final score came out to 10-25, 25-23, 22-25, 26-24, 15-6.

Meanwhile, Aspire Richmond Ca. College Preparatory Academy had already won three in a row and they went ahead and made it four on Monday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Leadership.

Aspire Richmond Ca. College Preparatory Academy had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-23, 25-12, 25-15.

John Henry took their victory against Aspire Richmond Ca. College Preparatory Academy in their previous meeting back in October of 2023 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Grizzlies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
